Description:

Glacier Route One, also known as Going to the Sun Highway, is the only road through spectacular Glacier National Park. Designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1997, the road is as beautiful as it is challenging. Small (if any) shoulders, sharp turns and dramatic climbs to Logan Pass (6,646 feet) make this a route for the most experienced riders.

DIRECTIONS:

Beginning in East Glacier, travel west on U.S. 2 along the southern boundary of the park to West Glacier. Head north and east through Glacier National Park on Going to the Sun Highway to the eastern entrance at St. Mary. Complete the loop to U.S. 2 via U.S. 89 West. Interact with the map for further details.

Tips from Other Riders:

POSTED BY: Lee 7/8/08: Take the cut-off Kiowa-East Glacier for some spectacular views and extend your trip going or coming west on US2 and south on US93 to Lakeside and stay on Flathead Lake at the motorcycle friendly Bayshore Resort Motel.
