Montana Hope Project patch

Montana Hope Project

The Montana Hope Project marked it 25th anniversary this year. The project began in 1984 when a handful of Montana Highway Patrol Officers reached out to a couple of kids with life-threatening illnesses. They dug into their own pockets, borrowed a van, and took the kids and their families for a trip into Glacier Park. From that humble beginning they have granted more than 310 wishes from family trips to Disneyworld to classic car restoration.

The Montana Hope Project exists to give Montana's critically and chronically ill children the opportunity to have a special dream come true and to offer families an opportunity for an annual weekend reunion. The Hope Project involves the entire family in the wish and the wish process whenever possible. There are currently 6 Montana children waiting to receive wishes.

The annual Ride For Hope 500, a 500 mile motorcycle rally, is one of the projects main fundraisers. This year, more than 125 motorcycle riders, started from 5 points in Montana and converged on Helena. Riders raised approximately $78,000.
